I find it slightly ironic that the first blog post in this series encourages a visual element other than black and white keystrokes on a screen, but after six months of playing behavioral analyst to the minds of newspaper journalists and freelance writers, I have come to the conclusion that words and photos must coexist. Don’t get me wrong, I love stunning visual elements as much as anyone, but I find that people would much rather look at a picture of an avocado than read an exceptional paragraph constructed with well-crafted sentences about the unassuming fruit’s interior creamy coolness despite the rough, leathery exterior. I love words. I also love avocados. So it goes.
Here are seven photos and and some words that exemplify my 2014.
